CPH Stage, our big Danish festival, with all its business has ended – and summer is on its way. For me, this it means time on BIRCA on Bornholm. And now you also have the opportunity to come over here, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the magic of Bornholm and at the same time gain knowledge. We offer 5 different courses from late July to late August – and I hope you would choose to participate in one of them.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This spring has been busy, not only with launching BIRCA. Several of the performances I am involved in have been touring internationally. It makes me so happy, when it is possible to show beautiful Danish performing arts abroad. Sparrow Dance visited Shanghai with “Fly Trap” with great success and 6 sold out performances. Teater Solaris has been in Milan with “Under Uvidenhedens M\u00f8rke”, their co-production with the Greenlandic Inuit Theater, invited because they are nominated for a price. Additionally, Rhea Leman’s performance “Goebbels’ Lesson” has been in Reims for the Young Audience Festival, played at the V\u00e5rfest in Troms\u00f8 and is now heading to Norway again tomorrow, where it plays at the Porsgrunn International Theater Festival. If you happen to be in the area, don\u2019t miss it!<\/p>\n

I have also been traveling in Europe. I participated in a very exciting IETM meeting in Bucarest and was in Greece – Elefsina, the city to be the EU Cultural City in 2021 – where I conducted a workshop at the Creative Lenses seminar. My first international workshop focusing on the tools on how to elevate your success as an artist. This was a lot of fun and I really want to engage in more opportunities to give this workshop and inspire more artists around the world.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Much of my time though has been spend making BIRCA ready for YOU – good happy times with family, friends and colleagues – everyone has helped paint, clean, arrange the garden and run stuff to the dump – so the place and us are ready for you. It’s so beautiful here \u2013 just to give you an idea, here is some pics from the Croatian set designer, Igor Vasilijev.<\/p>\n

Bookings are beginning to roll in and artists have begun to work at BIRCA. I also have some interesting meeting here in June with partners from Gozo and Mallorca – we aspire to making an Island-Residency collaboration!<\/p>\n

What I’m really proud of, however, is that we can already present 5 workshops this year! These are open for you to participate in – and I hope that some of it can catch your interest and lure you to Bornholm. You can learn Lucid Dreaming <\/em>with hello!earth, butoh with Anita Saij, work with your art in nature, also under the leadership of Anita, and\/or go to the yoga workshop. In addition, I have made a new course for performer artists and producers. I am honored to get 4 of my best European colleagues to be co-mentors in this program – Yohann Floch, Marie Le Sourd, Chrissie Faniadis and Pia Buchardt.\u00a0 It has become a course I really want to attend myself. This program is great for people who want to expand their work internationally by being more strategic and precise. Read more details about all these activities on this link<\/a>. I have been enriched and blessed by being allowed to take over B\u00e6kkelund and start BIRCA. Now we are creating a vibrant and creative place for everyone. Hope you will join.<\/p>\n
